Signals that can support an eligibility review

An official signal begins the assessment. It does not replace institution verification, workflow fit or available cohort capacity.

UDISE+ identity and management type

The official UDISE+ code and management classification establish which institution is applying and whether it is government, aided or another recognised type.

Important: A UDISE+ code identifies a school; it does not by itself prove Safety Access eligibility or Ministry recognition.

Aspirational District or Block context

Current NITI Aayog classifications can add objective regional evidence where relevant.

Important: Location alone is not automatic approval and must be checked against the current programme list.

State or documented evidence

Recognised state-level disadvantage, government-school status or other official evidence can support review.

Important: Rules vary by state; manual verification remains necessary.

Practical questions

Before an institution applies

Does every government school qualify?

No. Government management status is an important signal, but SchoolsOut also verifies current evidence, institutional identity, workflow fit and cohort capacity.

Can a CSR sponsor fund a group of schools?

Yes. Sponsors and delivery partners can propose a defined geography or cohort. Each participating school remains independently verified, and sponsors receive aggregate—not student-level—reporting.

Is India only a sponsored market?

No. Private, premium and international schools, school groups and transport operators can purchase SchoolsOut commercially. Safety Access is a separate route for verified high-need institutions.
